Scientific Board

The Scientific Board carries out activities defined by the Law and the Institute’s Statute, in particular:

establishes and implements the scientific policy of the Institute
discusses and decides on scientific and professional issues
considers and submits a preliminary opinion on the Director’s report on the execution of the financial plan
carries out appointments and reappointments to scientific, associate, and expert positions
carries out appointments and reappointments of honorary scientists
issues calls for internal grants for research projects, with the approval of the Board of Directors
gives the Director its opinion on the Institute’s program agreement proposal
appoints and dismisses one member of the Institute’s Board of Directors in accordance with the Law and Article 21 of the Statute
gives a preliminary opinion on the Director’s proposal of the Institute’s financial plan
gives the Board of Directors its opinion in the procedure of appointing the Director
proposes the Institute’s mission and strategy of development to the Board of Directors
discusses and submits a preliminary opinion in the procedure of adopting the Statute and general acts made by the Director, in accordance with the Statute
selects emeriti researchers, with the approval of the Board of Directors
adopts the annual report on quality assurance and improvement
conducts other activities pursuant to the founding charter and the Statute.
