Željko Lovrinčević, PhD, participated in the conference of the Croatian Economic Association in Opatija

 


From November 6 to 8, 2024, the 32nd traditional conference of the Croatian Economic Association: Economic Policy of Croatia in 2025 was held in Opatija. During the three days of the conference, in front of over 500 participants, leading scientists, businessmen and decision-makers discussed the direction in which Croatia’s economic policy will go in the next year. Head of the project "Is the macroeconomic convergence of Croatia sustainable?" (JMKHO) financed with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026. - NextGenerationEU, Željko Lovrinčević, PhD, held a presentation on the topic "Economic policy of Croatia in 2025: Is the current growth of Croatia sustainable?"
 


On the first day, the topics were the sustainability of Croatia's growth, the economic policy of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in 2025, the monetary future of Europe, macroeconomic indicators in the past 10 years, the challenges of sectoral policies and the real causes of the demographic breakdown.

On the second day, we heard about improving the competitiveness of Croatian companies on the global market, the energy vision of Croatia in 2050, the circular economy and the sustainability of the Croatian economy, and the 4th industrial revolution.

The third day of the 32nd traditional conference of the Croatian Economic Association was dedicated to the HDE Adria Business Forum - a key event that brought together leading experts and representatives from the region with the aim of promoting regional cooperation and economic integration among the countries of the Adriatic region.

Marina Tkalec, PhD, held an invited lecture at the 11th international FET 2024 conference

 


The eleventh edition of the international scientific conference of the Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković" in Pula was held from October 10 to 11, 2024, under the title "New Frontiers in Economics and Tourism 2024 - FET 2024".

The first day of the conference was dedicated to presentations by three renowned researchers, followed by panels in which forty exhibitors presented their scientific research. Marina Tkalec, PhD, participated in the conference as an invited lecturer and presented a paper entitled "Inflation Inequalities: The Whats, The Whys, and The Hows" and, in the spirit of the conference's title, encouraged the attendees to discover new scientific horizons in questioning the correctness and impartiality of social understanding and economic evaluation of inflation.

In addition to our researcher,  lectures were held by prof. Marija Gravari Barbas, PhD (Paris1-Sorbonne University) and prof. Nawazish Mirza, PhD (Excelia Business School-La Rochelle). The conference gathered numerous professors and researchers from 10 countries as well as students of the Faculty.

Maruška Vizek, PhD participated in the B.E.S.T conference in Dubrovnik
 


Maruška Vizek, PhD, collaborator on the project "Is macroeconomic convergence of Croatia sustainable?" (JMKHO) participated from July 24 to 27, 2024 at the B.E.S.T conference in Dubrovnik. The B.E.S.T conference, the international conference on Big Data in Economics, Science and Technology (BEST), is an international interdisciplinary conference that combines aspects of economics, science and technology to solve the complex social problems we face today on a global scale. The BEST interdisciplinary conference aims to cover various aspects of research that impact communities and global development, attracting researchers from multiple scientific fields.
 


Our researcher gave a presentation on "Working From Home and Well Being: An Ecological Momentary Assessment Research Study".

Davor Mikulić, PhD, at the Odyssey conference


Davor Mikulić, PhD, researcher on the JMKHO project - „Is Croatia's Macroeconomic Convergence Sustainable?“ - funded within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 - NextGenerationEU, participated in the 15th international Odyssey conference organized by the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb. The conference was held from May 22 to 25, 2024 in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and our researcher presented a paper entitled "Structural Decomposition of the Economic Growth in the Croatian Economy".

Marina Tkalec, PhD, at the international conference in Vienna 


As part of the JMKHO project, our researcher Marina Tkalec, PhD, participated in the international conference "International Conference on Economics, Finance & Business" in Vienna, which was held from May 20 to 22, 2024. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Social and Economic Sciences (IISES) in cooperation with University of Economics, Prague - Department of Economics. Dr. Tkalec presented the paper "Inflation response to the COVID-19 pandemic and government interventions: Evidence from EU-27".

On January 1, 2024 The Institute of Economics, Zagreb started with the implementation of the four-year project "Is Croatia's Macroeconomic Convergence Sustainable? (JMKHO)“,  financed with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 - NextGenerationEU. The project is part of the four-year Program Agreement that the Institute of Economics, Zagreb signed with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia. The Program Agreement is a new instrument of public financing of scientific institutions that enables the institutions to independently manage scientific activity in accordance with national strategic goals and based on the results and quality of scientific work. The project lasts until December 31, 2027 and project activities, as well as events, will be published on the web pages of the Institute of Economics, Zagreb.
