Participatory Governance for Sustainable Development

This book points to important elements in the governance of sustainable development and the key reasons for failing to achieve it. The editors, Željka Kordej- De Villa, Paul Stubbs and Marijana Sumpor, all from the Institute of Economics, Zagreb, deal with three main themes: a) sustainable development, because a good understanding of that concept is a precondition for good governance; b) governance, development and the coordination of development activities; and c) participation, partnership and/or aid as the basic preconditions for sustainable development.
