Project outline: The Republic of Croatia needed to modernize its environmental monitoring systems, hydrometeorological analysis and prediction tools, and dissemination methods to better protect life, property, and economic interests across the country. Croatia’s Meteorological and Hydrological Service (MHS) led this significant modernization effort. To enhance and ensure future successes in MHS’s modernization program and to provide state-of-the-science expertise, the University of Oklahoma (OU) in collaboration with EIZ conducted the “Feasibility Study for the Meteorological and Hydrological Service Modernization Project in the Republic of Croatia.” EIZ cooperated with Dr. Dan Sutter, University of Texas, responsible for TASK 5: Cost-benefit analysis.
