Commissioned by: Freyr d.o.o.
Project duration: January 27, 2017 –
Project manager: Ivica Rubil, PhD
Brief outline:
Project goal was the analysis of out-of-pocket expenditures for health care goods and services in Croatia, with the aim of estimating the financial burden faced by households relative to their living standard, with special emphasis on households with low living standard.
Results showed that the burden of out-of-pocket health care expenditures was most important for poor households and those at risk of poverty, but that the burden was generally low, given the wide coverage of the Croatian population with rather generous publicly provided health insurance.
Activities: Acquisition of the Household Budget Survey data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics; preparation of the data for analysis; statistical analysis of the data; interpretation of results; writing the final report.
Methodology: The World Health Organization's methodology, adapted for European countries.
