Analysis of economy with projections and scenarios of economic development of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County until 2030 – PGŽ 2030

Summary:
Project goals were to present the development of economy of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in the period 2013-2016, to assess the existing state and to determine the usefulness of time series of existing data for elaboration of projections of future development of the county economy.
The result of the project was the prepared study that served as an input for a part of the Report on State of Space in the County Primorje-Gorski Kotar for the period 2013-2016. The input referred to the analysis of the economy and it also served for elaboration of other spatial planning documents that were elaborated by the Institute for Spatial Planning of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, as well as for the elaboration of other development projects.
Project activities included the analysis and assessment of state of the economy of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County for period 2013-2016, analysis of managing development, analysis of spatial planning documents – economy sector, elaboration of recommendations for improvement of sustainable development in space with proposal of priority activities and the elaboration of projections of economy trends in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County until 2030.
Elaboration of the study was done in two phases:
- Analytical part: Analysis of current economy trends
- Forecasting part: Projections of trends of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County until 2030
For the analytical part, all available documents and indicators of institutions relevant for economy and spatial development were consulted. In the analytical part of the study, wherever it was possible, an analysis at micro-regional level (Gorski Kotar, Island, Coastal strip) was conducted, taking into consideration specificities of each area in identification of development measures and activities.
